THE AIM

Feeding the 5000 Singapore aims to raise awareness on the 790,000 tonnes of food that go to waste every year in Singapore, to encourage retailers to start donating their surplus food and to start a national movement on reducing food waste from cafes, restaurants, hawkers, retailers and households.

Feeding the 5000 will be a zero-waste event, meaning no unnecessary materials will be used (e.g. flyers or single-use plastic.) Waste will be limited to organic waste that will be properly by-processed after the event. Surplus food will be donated to the partnering food distribution programs.
